Kokum Sherbet

Kokum sherbet is the cool refreshing drink available in Goa.

Kokum fruit is also known as garcinia indica, the dark red colored fruit that belong to mangosteen family. After getting the fruit from the market, the outer skin of the fruit is dried in the sunlight, which is known as aamsol in Goan language. These dried kokums is used in goan cuisine mostly in fish recipes. Kokum is the good source of vitamin C and has many health benefits like it helps to improve appetite and also helps in digestion.

Serving Instruction

Serve the juice chilled.
Sometimes the juice is garnished with chopped cilantro just before serving.
